The Discover Rider is a slimline, modern mobility scooter that can be easily disassembled into smaller, lighter parts for easy transportation, with simple, easy-to-use controls and a contemporary design.
Important - Please Note: it's possible that you could have two different terminal types on your batteries, screw down or push on, you can choose either above depending on your requirements. At the time of writing, we have only seen one physical size box; it is approximately five inches tall, not including the handle.
These Discover Rider batteries are sealed, non-hazardous, non-spillable AGM type. This means they are great for transportation, including airlines that accept them; however, you should tell them when booking. They are also environmentally friendly and recyclable as they are mainly made of lead. Once these batteries have come to the end of their life, please recycle them at your local recycling centre.
This set for the Discover Rider includes two batteries, which go inside the battery box. Easy to fit: roll it upside down, remove the screws (one of the pictures above shows you where), hold the lid on, then turn it back, take off the lid, and you will see the two batteries. There are only two cables on each, so it is unlikely to make a mistake, but perhaps take a picture so you have something to refer to.
How to charge and maintain Discover Rider scooter batteries?
Although these batteries are AGM and maintenance-free, charging your batteries is very important. Most of the damage occurs when they are allowed to run flat, so please charge them upon delivery and before first use. Although this should not take long, all our batteries are dispatched with sufficient charge. If six weeks pass without use, then charge them to slow down the natural discharge rate. Once these batteries have reached the end of their life, please recycle them. They are mainly made of lead, which means they can be recycled into other products.
