Most of the Freerider Landranger scooter range will take a pair of 50ah batteries not including the XL, but you should always check your installation as there could be some variations. The Freerider Landranger range of scooters is aimed at a user who may wish to user over a rougher terrain rather than just a pavement ensuring a more comfortable ride in these conditions but still offering a compact and relatively light construction for ease of use and manoeuvrability

The batteries are sealed lead acid construction, often called VRLA, they are also have the benefit of having advanced glass mat technology or AGM. They are approved for sir transport but you should contact your airline before booking a flight in case they have any specific restrictions. The batteries are non-hazardous and will not spill even if laid on their side with a valve-regulated safety feature.
You should charge your new batteries before first use, albeit they will be almost fully charged upon delivery if you are using your Freerider scooter on a regular basis then it may be best to charge after every use as the batteries will last considerably longer if you can maintain a charge above 50%, if you are not using them then charge every month, remember if they are in the scooter, there could be something draining down the batteries slowly so keep a regular check on them, there are many electrics on the device so it is better to be safe than sorry a fully discharged battery will not last very long.
