How to charge and maintain Drive DeVilbiss-Cobra batteries?
When you receive your new batteries, they will be mostly charged, but you must charge them until they are completely charged before using them for the first time. If you are not going to use the scooter for an extended period of time, charge it every four weeks to help slow down the natural self-discharge rate. Most importantly, charge after each and every use; never leave a discharged battery as this will cause irreversible damage as time goes by.

The most difficult aspect of installing these batteries is often their weight; they are heavy due to the lead content inside. There are no special tools required for this, just a screwdriver and some patience. They will be stored beneath the seat and should be fairly easy to access.
