Drive Medical or DeVilbiss healthcare is a leading manufacturer of electric vehicles, their mobility scooters are top of the range and so are their powerchairs. The Multego is a dynamic mid-range powerchair that is designed for simple but powerful mobility. This powerchair has a backrest that can be adjusted in height and tension, a kerb climber, and a seat belt. The Volt Powerchair has a fixed aluminium frame with solid tyres to ensure no punctures, as well as a manual seat tilt and back recliner as standard to help prevent discomfort and pressure sores.
Weather you have the Volt or the Multego, the batteries are the same which are available here. They are high quality sealed lead AGM batteries with a voltage of 12-volts and a current of 35-amps made by a reputable manufacturer. Because they are AGM, they are non-hazardous and non-spillable, safe to mount on their side, and safe for air travel.

How to charge and maintain Drive DeVilbiss Multego and Volt batteries?
Most users will not notice, but it will take a number of charges and associated use in your equipment before they are capable of accepting a full capacity charge, this is quite normal and part of the conditioning process, each time you have used your electric vehicle then you should charge it as soon as possible, do not leave it sitting in a semi discharged state for any longer than necessary, and do not try to fully discharge the batteries, it will reduce the capacity. If you are not using the batteries for an extended period of time, remember to recharge them every four weeks and do not store them discharged, even partially, and do not leave them on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time.
Environmentally Friendly batteries
Sealed lead acid batteries are, as it says in the name, made with a lot of lead. This means they are quite heavy and lead is recyclable so still useful. Please direct your old batteries and these new ones once they have served their purpose to your local recycling centre so they can be turned into something new.
