Charging your new Makita battery is important. Charge before first use, and you will find if you use it a lot will last much longer. If you use it less, then recharge it after every use and before you put it away, give it another charge every two months if not being used. If during the winter period it is not being used and maybe being stored in a cold, damp garden shed, then maybe increase the amount of charging. Do not leave it on the charger for more than 24-hours.
