The new Smart-UPS On-Line SRT range is no exception. The SRT3000XLI, SRT3000RMXLI and SRT3000RMXLI -NC has a power rating of 3000VA / 2700W with various different output voltages. They are capable of supporting loads from 1 kVa to 10 kVa in a tower or rack convertible chassis. When business critical systems require runtime in hours, not minutes, Smart-UPS On Line can be configured with multiple battery packs to meet aggressive runtime demands. They are designed to smooth and clean up the mains power flowing inwards to stop any spikes or surges which are necessary in or small or large offices, data centres, network server rooms etc.

Installation
Installing the batteries is comparatively easy procedure if in any doubt refer to your manual for the process. It can be done by most people however if in doubt please seek advice from a professional. It should be as simple as taking the back cover off, probably held in with some screws. Slide out the module and swap over the batteries, install it back into the machine and you are good to go.
How to extend the life of your batteries?
The UPS obviously has its own charging system which is a great start as the machine will do a much better job at charging than you can. You should run the system without load directly after installation as this will help them reset. Other tips on extending battery life are making sure the system has good ventilation and is clear of dust, stored in a climate controlled room and using less than 40% load where possible. You should expect somewhere between two to five year life but these simple tips can help extend the life of them.
The batteries on offer are maintenance-free, sealed lead-acid with suspended electrolyte, leak proof, non hazardous, recyclable and can be fitted on their side, ideal for installing into these types of systems.
Recycling
When the time comes and they are no longer able to produce the energy required they can be turned into another useful product because they are mainly made from lead. This is only if you ensure they are sent to a recycling centre, your local council will have one near you. This will fulfil the natural green life of this product and ensure that the environmentally friendly energy source completes its life journey to a fitting end.
