The batteries that you receive from us will be almost fully charged, but the system will still need to complete a service charge after installation. With this in mind, the system will be unable to provide full runtime protection during this short period. It may not always be convenient, especially in a fast-paced world, but please run the system without any load added while the first charge is completed.
It would not be unreasonable to hope for a 2-5 year life span of batteries in the UPS, this will unfortunately be very dependent on the general conditions its put under, ventilation is important, best placed to site would be in an air conditioned communications room, batteries will in general get hot if the heat cannot disperse it will shorten life span, the higher the constant load applied the harder its working which directly relates to battery life, if you can try to keep it below 40%.
The battery cells are constructed using absorbed glass mat technology, or AGM. They are also valve-regulated sealed lead-acid, or VRLA. This is the recommended battery type for this installation; it will not leak if mounted on its side. They're safe to use in a UPS tower or rack-mountable configuration without spillage in mission-critical applications like a hospital or busy data centre, as well as in a home office.
