These Line-Interactive uninterruptible power supplies are usually rack mounted with a height of 2U, but they can have pedestals for a tower configuration, installation of the batteries is quite easy, just remove the front cover, undo the thumb screw holding the metal battery door shut, slide and open then you can slide the batteries out, refer to manual for full instructions, always wise to take a picture of the wiring with your mobile phone as you never know if you are going to be disturbed half way through, far better to have something to refer to rather than memory.
Expected battery life in this type of installation is between 2-5 years, but that depends heavily on conditions: is it dust-free, is there air conditioning, is there a large load? All of these will affect battery life. Ensure good ventilation; use a vacuum to keep vents free of dust.
