Fitting new batteries in this popular free standing Dell Smart-UPS 750 need not be a scary task, it will take the average person no more than five minutes and save you employing a engineer to come in and do it at an exorbitant cost or replacing a perfectly good unit.
The fitting procedure in the APC DLA750i is as follows, first shut down any computers that you have connected to the UPS and disconnect the power leads, then shutdown the Dell-Smart-UPS-750 and remove the power lead from mains supply. By this stage you would have unpacked the order from us and noticed that there are two batteries, they may have protective plastic covers on the terminals, these need to be removed before fitting. on the front of the UPS there is a cover. just pull this forward and it will clip off leaving it attached via a flat ribbon lead with plenty of room just to pull the cover out of the way. Then you will see two clips to open the battery door exposing the old batteries which you can pull out, once out just swap the leads and fittings over to the new batteries and put back in reverse order, making sure that the connector sits in correctly, see no more than five minutes.
We would advise running the UPS without any load to begin with, this will help it recognise that it has new batteries so it can reset itself.
