On this rack-mounted 2U server, you will be able just to clip off the front cover and see the battery door on the left side; we would disconnect from power first, then remove the two screws holding the lid on and the battery module can be slid out, be careful it's very heavy around 17-kilo's.

Once you have slid out the battery module from your power supply, you will be able to see the batteries clearly with the cables and connectors to join the internal batteries. You may be wise to take a quick photo of how they are connected in case you need to refer to it, then swap them over. When you put it back in the UPS, be aware of the cables that run down either side of the module as they can sometimes catch. A piece of insulating tape might be needed to hold them in place when you put them back in.

If you are able, we would recommend that you run the system without any load to start until the batteries are fully charged. This helps the unit recognise the new battery storage and reset it properly.

Please remember that this is a recyclable product, and when the end of life has been reached should be recycled at an appropriate recycling centre.
