We will send out batteries that are almost fully charged, after fitting the UPS will top up and complete a full charge, so it will follow that there will be a short period of time where you do not have the full runtime protection that your UPS could possibly offer you until it has completed this operation, if you can manage it the best advice would be to allow the initial charge to complete without any load, we know this may not be convenient in a lot of installations
Fitted in a UPS you could expect a battery life span of between 2-5 years, how it's used over time however will determine this, good ventilation is always important, so often they are used as a book shelf, If you add more devices over time keep an eye on the load, if you can keep it below 40% it will last longer, while its more than capable of going higher it will be at the expense of the battery life
These batteries can be mounted on the side without any issues, no leaking, which means they can be used in tower or rack mountable situations, they are the recommended VRLA type and benefit from AGM technology they are not-hazardous so safe for use in critical environments
