After placing your order and upon receipt of your new battery pack you may will note that they have a good charge in them. but you should still charge them fully before using for the first time, however if it's a battery backup for something that's always connected to the mains like an alarm or UPS system then you do not need to charge it first as the system will do that for you, there should be no need for many hours, it will probably not take very long at all, just until your charger indicates they are read., this will of course depend on the charger capabilities, while you may well be tempted just to use them without charging first, if it's going in a portable device it would be unwise to miss it out.
