After you have unpacked your new battery order from us you will note that they will have a good charge in them, regardless of this you should still complete a full charge before first use, you can skip this step if the battery is going in a device with its own always connected mains charging circuit, maybe a UPS system as this will do the job for you, you do not need to leave it on for hours on end, it will probably not take very long at all depending on the charger, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished, you might just want to use them, but that would be unwise, unless as stated above, missing out on charging them first could shorten overall life expectancy.
You probably will not even notice it but it can take up to ten charges and use in your equipment before you are able to receive and hold a full capacity charge in your batteries, this is all quite a normal part of the conditioning process, allowing your new batteries to sit without charge is not a good idea, as soon as you have finished using it put it back on charge, do not attempt to deliberately discharge the batteries, it will not rejuvenate them, it will only do them harm and will reduce the life span, they may be protracted periods where the batteries are not being used, if this is the case ensure they are fully charged first, then top up every 4-weeks but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours.
These batteries will require no general maintenance, no topping up with fluid as it has none, they are 12-volt AGM and VRLA, of course with deep cycle properties that would be required in this type of application, they are also not-hazardous so safe to use in the home or in portable devices.
