This is quite a small and compact battery pack, it is valve regulated sealed lead acid so not-hazardous and safe to use indoors or in portable devices, we see them in alarm and monitoring equipment quite often as well as more mobile devices.

If you are using this battery is something like a household alarm system that has its own built in mains connected charging circuit then it will look after the battery for you and do a much better job than you could do so will last considerably longer.
If its going in a portable device or requires you to manually charge then do so before first use, as soon as you can after each and every use, if not being used then also every 8-weeks, its when the cells are left empty that they start to decline, keep them charged but that does not mean leave them on the charger, just until ready fully charged then remove.
You probably will not notice but it will take up to ten charges and associated use in your device before the batteries are capable of taking a few capacity charge, this is normal, each time you have used your battery in a more portable device then you should put it back on charge as soon as you can, do not leave it sitting in a semi discharged state for any longer than necessary, you should never deliberately go out of your way to try fully discharge the batteries, we are often asked will this extend the life but no this will only reduce its life span and cost you money in the long run, if for any reason you are not using them for long periods then you should recharge every 4 to 6-weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time.
These batteries are deep cycle capable, which is essential in this type of application, the VRLA and AGM cells will not leak and not-hazardous so suitable for travelling, there is not maintenance required, except of course charging which we have covered on this page, both VRLA and AGM.
