- LiFePO4 Lithium mobility battery 12ah replacement
This pack of two 12-volt lithium batteries that combine to create 24v that can directly replace 12ah, 13ah, 14ah and 15ah sealed lead acid battery pack in your mobility scooter while using your original charger, this is assuming you have a standard three stage charger as supplied for most mobility scooters and golf carts, as a pair it may cause issues if you have a up-rated 5-stage charger.
Lithium batteries are a good choice for mobility scooters because they are one of the most durable and reliable energy sources on the market and a drastic improvement over the standard lead acid in weight, capacity and shelf life.
You may be thinking why are they only 10ah when you can get 12ah or 15ah lead acid?
All of the reasons listed below will help explain that more but in short because the Lithium are able to use all of their capacity and no need to keep a large reserve to maintain long life so they simply do not need to have more amps.
Advantages of having Lithium over sealed lead acid
The big reason why you may choose lithium over sealed lead is because unlike lead acid batteries which can only discharge to about 50% of their full power before needing recharging and if discharged more than this will shorten the overall life of the batteries (60% for the GEL versions), lithium is able to fully deplete and use 100% of their power, all of the time without causing damage. Other advantages are:
Lithium batteries typically weigh one third of their comparable sealed lead acid counterpart.
Charge much faster because of their super low resistance.
5000 times battery cycle compared to 300-500 times on a lead acid.
No maintenance and able to hold its charge much better when not in use.
Safest type of lithium - Comes installed with a battery management system (BMS) that provides protection from over-charge, over-discharge and short circuiting.
The BMS also allows them to be charged with any AGM, GEL or Lithium charger.
Comes with a three year manufacturer’s warranty
Now the big question is it worth it?
If you are very methodical and look after the sealed lead acid and they do the job then great! However if you use your mobility scooter a lot and run the batteries down all the time then lithium is most definitely the way to go.
Lithium batteries certainly cost more upfront but the long term savings are incredible. They are able to last and produce more power for much longer and can take the abuse of charging and discharging much better which means fewer replacements and less downtime.

Upgrade even further?
We can also offer an upgrade to this using the easy upgrade section above. An eighteen ampere battery (which is usually only found in a physically larger case size), in a smaller size. A size that is very commonly used in mobility scooters, powerchairs and wheelchairs. This means that you can now upgrade your batteries like never before, increasing the range by a tremendous amount by going from 12ah to 18ah. I repeat, this 18ah upgrade is the same physical size as above and the normal 12ah sealed lead.
