If you use this battery in a portable device, follow the recommended charging routine. Doing so will help extend battery life and save you money on replacements. First, charge fully before first use; charge as soon as you can after each use. If you can always keep at least 20% energy left in the cells after a day's use and charge straight away, the cells will recover well and keep serving you. If you let them become completely flat and don't charge them immediately afterwards, the surface area available to receive a charge will shrink, reducing energy storage and shortening life expectancy. Further to the items mentioned, if you are not using your battery for longer periods, you must charge it every couple of months to keep the energy levels high, and that's if it's not connected to any device that may be daily drawing a current; if it is, then you should keep a closer eye on the voltage.
