These batteries are often seen in emergency lighting and alarm systems, where this is the case and they have there own built in mains connected power supply to look after the charging regime then they will last many years often over a decade, it would not be unusual that the only time you know they need replacing is when you have a power cut so they should be tested after 2 years and if in doubt replaced
