It is important that you keep the battery with as much charge in it as you can, try to get in the habit of charging after each use, if you let it run down too far you will reduce the number of charges the battery is able to take throughout its life and by default reduce its life, also note that if you are not using the battery you should charge it every six weeks or less to maintain a good healthy battery pack.

I bought this battery for my hand held hoover, it was easy to replace and much cheaper than others i had seen advertised, not much more i can say really except i would buy one of these again when the time comes.

I suspect you are looking at a cover put on by the lantern manufacture, and under this is the normal battery, do not think you will find this. As your battery is already spent run a knife to break the glue to separate the top cover from the battery, if you see a normal battery underneath then just swap the cover over to the new battery.

This is the replacement for that battery, what you might be looking at is a cover put on by the device supplier, this is normally glued on, have a closer look at your battery to see, i would suspect that under that cover the battery will look like the one on this page, minus of course the plastic covers on the terminals.
