Small compact 6v sealed lead compatible batteries are often seen in residential and commercial alarms systems.
After placing you and receipt of your order you will note that the batteries will be almost fully charged when received, but you should still maintain a full charge before first use, however, if it's a battery backup for something that's always connected to the mains with its built-in charging circuit like a monitor or maybe an alarm system then you do not need to charge it first as the system will do that for you, you only need to complete the charge until the charger indicates that it's ready, it probably will not take long but it is very important so not a step you should overlook. do not just install and use without this initial charge, unless the situation is as stated above, doing so can shorten the expected life span, it's well worth doing.
It's not always apparent but if you are using the battery in the device that requires user action for the charging of it that it may take up to ten charges combined with use in your equipment before a full capacity charge can be achieved, this is just a normal part of the conditioning process. letting your new batteries sit in a discharged state, even partially is not a good idea, so if being used in a portable device as soon as you have used them put them back on charge. never go out of your way to deliberately discharge fully, this type of technology is not suitable for that kind of treatment, this will only reduce the overall life span, there may well be extended periods where the batteries are not being actively used, if so ensure they are charged fully beforehand and then recharged every 4-6 weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than twenty fours hours at a time.
These batteries will require no general maintenance, no topping up with fluid as it has none, the acid is suspended within a glass matting between the plates so will not spill. they are AGM and VRLA, of course with deep cycle properties that would be required in this type of application. they are also not hazardous so safe to use in the home or on portable devices.
