The battery pack that you receive from us will be almost fully charged, but you should still charge them before first use, if the battery is being fitted in something with its own built in always connected mains supply like an alarm system then you can miss this step as it will do a better job of charging it than you, there should be no need for many hours, it will probably not take very long at all as its almost fully charged already, just until your charger indicates they are ready, this will of course depend on the charger capabilities, try to make sure you do not miss the initial charge (unless of course being fitted in a device with own circuit as stated above), doing so may well reduce overall life expectancy.
These batteries are deep cycle capable, which is essential in this type of application, the VRLA and AGM cells will not leak as the acid is combined within a glass matting so no liquid, not-hazardous so suitable for travelling, there is no maintenance required, except of course charging which we have covered on this page.
