We will send you batteries that are almost fully charged. Your UPS will finish off the charge, which helps it reset the battery cell itself. This means the system won't provide full runtime protection while it does this. If you can, do this initial charge without any load. We know this may not be convenient in many installations, but that is the best advice.
In this kind of device, you would expect the batteries to last between two and five years; this depends heavily on use and how the system is stored. Good ventilation: if it's in an office, do not use it as a bookshelf. Keeping the load low will extend the lifespan; ideally, keep it below 40%. They often run to the edge of their capabilities, and while they may be able to do it, it reduces the lifespan.
