Compatible 6-volt 12-amp hour batteries that are constructed from absorbed glass mat more commonly known as AGM, they will not leak and can safely be mounted on the side as well as used in portable devices, they are valve regulated sealed lead acid, this size batteries are used in many applications from rack mounted uninterruptible power supplies, emergency lighting to large torch's and children's ride on cars so very versatile.

If your new battery is being used in something like an alarm panel or UPS then it will probably have its own on board power supply to charge the battery and keep it maintained at the correct voltage. If however your intention is to use this in a more portable device that requires your intervention for its charging then ensure you fully charge when you receive it and before first use, shouldn't take long as it will come out to you almost fully charged. Charge also after each use, do not let it sit around partially charged, never try to fully discharge it and if not being used for long periods then a top up charge every four weeks will help maintain a longer life but do not leave it on the charger for more than 16 hours if you can help it.
