The HomeGlide and the HomeGlide-Extra is a straight rail stairlift with many different options and extras available to the end user. You can have it installed in array of upholstery choices to match the home decor. Other features as standard include a linked footrest, which folds the footrest up automatically with the seat and greater comfort and security as it comes with curved armed rests, which curve around the front of the body during movement.
Eventually you will need to change the batteries, thankfully it is a quick, easy and cheap job to do. The batteries required to power these, just like many other stairlifts is a pair of sealed, non-hazardous, non-spillable, valve regulated lead acid (VRLA), absorbed glass matt (AGM) twelve volt batteries. Looking after new HomeGlide Stairlift batteries
The charging will be taken care of by the stairlift but if there comes a period of 4-weeks or so when its not in use, turn it on to allow some charge to flow into the batteries, this will prolong the life of them.

On the downloads tab you will see the user guide for the HomeGlide stairlift which has plenty of information on a variety of different aspects regarding your stairlift. Feel free to download this, print off and keep for yourself for future reference. It is recommended by the manufactures that you call an engineer out to install these batteries however it is a fairly simple job that you could attempt yourself. The batteries will be stored underneath the seat and a screwdriver and some patience will be all you need to change them over, shouldn’t take longer than thirty minutes or so.

These batteries are sealed lead AGM and safe to be mounted on their side which means they are (including your old ones) environmentally friendly and able to be recycled. At the end of their life please direct them to your local centre for recycling where they can be turned into something new and continue on their green life.
