Your battery will come out with a good amount of charge, but as with any rechargeable, you should charge it when it arrives and is first used. There will probably be sufficient to start your bike anyway, but the first charge is significant, so you would need to go for a good run to replenish the energy. If this is not possible, then put it back on a charger.

If you use your bike a good few times every week all year round, you are already looking after your battery. It's where they get left for periods that cause the problems. There are many ways to drain them: alarm, immobiliser, connection, etc.

For periods of inactivity, we would suggest removing the battery, charging it and store in a dry, frost-free place, off the floor and recharging it every six weeks but do not leave it on a charge for more than twenty-four hours.
