This battery size is used in lots of unrelated applications, they are very popular in rack mounted uninterruptible power supplies or UPS systems, we have also seen them in electric powered assisted bicycles, ride on scooters and many other devices.
If you are using them in something like an alarm system or UPS with its own built-in charging system, then follow the equipment manufacturer's recommendations for installing new batteries. This is often just a period of time and a reset to the new battery. If you are putting them in a portable device that relies on your interaction to charge, we suggest you charge before first use. Charge after every use, and if not used for long periods, a top-up charge every 8 weeks will help arrest natural self-discharge.
