Hyundai's HY4500SEi portable inverter generator is small but powerful. The HY4500SEI features the latest Hyundai digital inverter technology, designed to handle the high start-up currents of power tools and electric motors. The LCD makes it simple to monitor the generator's performance by displaying voltage, frequency, and hour count. It can safely power sensitive electronics without damaging or overloading them because it produces a pure sine wave output. After connecting the battery and turning on the generator, press the start button on the key fob to start the generator immediately; it also has a recoil pull-start backup for emergencies.

Even though it will be delivered at least 80% charged, make sure the battery is fully charged before first use. Although the manual suggests charging it every few uses, leaving the battery discharged will destroy it; if possible, charge it fully after each use. Remove the battery when you know you won't use it for a while, charge it fully, and recharge it every five weeks to keep the cells fresh.

On the downloads tab, you will find a manual for the HY4500SEi; it has important information (not just regarding the battery) that any owner of one of these machines should have access to. Please feel free to download and keep it.
To replace the battery, first remove the screw holding the battery maintenance cover in place. Remove this cover and unhook the battery belt. Remove the black cable from the battery, and then the red one. Remove the battery, replace it with this new one, and reconnect the wires. Hook the battery belt and screw the cover back in place.

This is a sealed lead AGM battery, and as the name suggests, it contains a lot of lead. Lead is a valuable metal that can be recycled and used to create new products. Please take your old battery and this battery to your local recycling centre once they have served their purpose.
