The battery on these generators is mounted on its side behind the end panel. You may just be able to get behind the panel to change the battery, but it is tight, might be easier to undo the screws marked as "A" in one of the pictures above, the battery is behind panel "B".
The battery itself has the required upright flag terminals for fitting.
