Most Freerider Landranger scooters take a pair of 50Ah batteries, excluding the XL, but always check your installation, as there may be variations. The Freerider Landranger range of scooters is aimed at a user who may wish to ride over rougher terrain rather than just pavement, ensuring a more comfortable ride in these conditions but still offering a compact and relatively light construction for ease of use and manoeuvrability.

The batteries are sealed lead-acid construction, often called VRLA, and also have the benefit of advanced glass mat technology (AGM). They are approved for air transport. Please contact your airline before booking a flight to confirm any specific restrictions. The batteries are non-hazardous and will not spill, even if laid on their side, thanks to a valve-regulated safety feature.
You should charge your new batteries before first use, albeit they will be almost fully charged upon delivery if you are using your Freerider scooter regularly then it may be best to charge after every use as the batteries will last considerably longer if you can maintain a charge above 50%, if you are not using them then charge every month, remember if they are in the scooter, there could be something draining down the batteries slowly so keep a regular check on them, there are many electrics on the device. Hence, it is better to be safe than sorry a fully discharged battery will not last very long.
