Your UPS is there to protect vital equipment behind it. Below are the details for replacing the battery in the Tripp Lite SMART1500.

We will dispatch batteries that are almost fully charged. Your UPS will finish off the charge, which helps it reset the battery cell itself. While this is going on, the system will not be able to provide the full runtime backup until it's finished. You probably want to just install and go, but it's best to run the system without a load so it can properly reset.
You can expect the batteries in this device to last 2-5 years; however, this will vary a lot depending on conditions, storage, and overall use. Using the UPS system as part of the office furniture is not the best idea; it needs ventilation. In general use, the batteries will get very hot as they are working hard 24-hours a day, the more heat the shorter their life, also do not overload with devices, if you can keep the load below 40%, while the system may be of going higher than that its working the battery cell harder which means a shorter life span.
These batteries are sealed lead-acid, valve-regulated (VRLA); they will not spill, so they can be mounted on the side without fear of leakage. They can be used in rack or tower modules; they are non-hazardous, so they are safe for use in mission-critical environments, including busy data centres or hospitals.
Voltage = 12-volts
Capacity = 7Ah @20Hr
Chemistry = AGM, VRLA
Hot-swap capable.
We are offering 3 batteries for use in the Tripp Lite SMART1500. The physical size of the individual batteries is as follows:
Length = 151mm
Width = 65mm
Height = 94mm.
If you want to get the most from your UPS, consider upgrading to a 9Ah battery. It has the same dimensions and can replace the original 7Ah battery without issue, with the benefit of longer runtime, and is an easy upgrade option.
