This system does look a little dated but is still very much in use; of course, you would not be looking here if it did not require new batteries.
These batteries are easy to fit, refer to your owners manual for full instructions, ensure you shutdown any equipment you have behind the UPS before you do the same to the APC 800RT, then remove the power lead before you start.
This pack has four 6-volt batteries to replace the ones you already have, they are valve regulated lead acid batteries, they will not spill so you can mount on their side and non-hazardous. They have a high lead content; you should dispose of them at a recycling centre, as they are an important commodity that can be used again.
We recommend that, after fitting the new batteries, you run the UPS without a load until they are fully charged, as they will be almost fully charged upon receipt. It will not take long, and it will inform the UPS that it has new batteries and reset itself.
Like all rechargeable batteries, they should be charged every few months when not in use to keep them topped up; this will save you money in the long run.
