This battery is the 6V 7Ah base; the same code is used for the 6V 4Ah battery, but it's a different shape and physical size. We have included a link to it on the alternatives tab. The physical size of this offer is 151 x 34 x 94mm, yours may have a lead attached to it, this is put on by the manufacture of the particular toy its fitting, take this off and put on the new battery, some are soldered, if so and you are not able to solder it you may want to get a couple of flat spade terminals from any car spares shop and attach to the wires instead, this also means its easier to change next time.

Some of these, depending on the toy maker, have a plastic cover on top with leads coming out; this has been glued on. Gently remove it, and you will see the terminals underneath, and you can replace the leads as mentioned above.

The battery will come with a good charge. However, you should still charge it fully before first use, and also charge after every use. These often take a battering because of the nature of the use: used heavily for a period, then ignored for a long time. If not being used, recharge every 6 weeks; never put away in a discharged state; do not leave on the charger for any longer than required to obtain a full charge- maybe eight hours maximum. They can handle many charges, but only if looked after.

The battery is valve-regulated sealed lead-acid (VRLA with AGM technology; it will not spill even if mounted on the side; it is not hazardous.
