The batteries we send will be almost fully charged, but the system will still need to complete a full service charge; while it's doing this, it won't be able to provide full runtime backup. We know it is probably being used urgently, but it's best to run it without a load at first so it can reset itself.
You can expect a battery life expectancy of 2-5 years in your UPS; this will vary greatly depending on conditions. In general, batteries get hot during use; if heat can't dissipate, lifespan shortens. The higher the load, the harder it works, which directly affects battery life, so try to keep it below 40%.
These batteries are valve-regulated sealed lead-acid (VRLA) with AGM technology; they need no maintenance and can be mounted on their side in a UPS without fear of leakage. They are non-hazardous, so they're safe for use in hospitals, busy data centres, and home offices.
