Replacement APC RBC34 battery pack, rechargeable 6v sealed VRLA AGM cells found in some Smart-UPS 1U rackmount systems at a low price.
These are valve-regulated lead-acid units, or VRLA, that also have advanced AGM or absorbed glass mat technology; they are hot-swap capable, will not leak and are non-hazardous
Hot-swap-capable valve-regulated sealed lead VRLA batteries will not spill and can be mounted on the side.
Although many will not bother, it's always best to run the system up without load after fitting new batteries, even better if you can do this for twenty-four hours. We know many will not do this because it's inconvenient, but it may pay dividends later in life if you do.
These compatible APC RBC34 batteries are known to replace those in the Smart-UPS.
Easy to install, the expected lifespan of between two to five years in this application depends on factors such as continual load and proper ventilation in the communications room. Keep the vents clear of dust, as it can build up inside and slow heat dispersal.
This is a recyclable product. Please ensure it is recycled at the end of life by sending it to a recycling centre. There are many around. Your local council will have a list. As they are predominantly made of lead, this process is easy and will ensure this precious commodity gets to live another life and help our planet.
