After you have unpacked your new battery order from us, you will note that they have a good charge; regardless, you should still complete a full charge before first use. however if it's a battery backup for something that's always connected to the mains like a monitor or maybe a alarm system then you do not need to charge it first as the system will do that for you, there should be no need for many hours, it will probably not take very long at all, just until your charger indicates they are ready, this will of course depend on the charger capabilities. You might just want to fit them and use, but that would be unwise, unless, as stated above, missing out on charging them first could shorten overall life expectancy
