The batteries will be delivered with a good charge, but you should run the engine for a period after fitting, as the first charge is important.
While most people won't notice, it will take several charges and corresponding use before the batteries reach full capacity. This is a normal part of the conditioning process. Do not attempt to discharge the batteries deliberately; it will only do them harm. It will reduce the lifespan. If you leave the batteries unused for extended periods, remember to recharge them every four weeks, and do not store them discharged, even partially. Do not leave them on the charger for more than 24 hours at a time.
Sealed-for-life batteries are very similar to conventional flooded cells, except they do not need any maintenance. This battery type uses lead-calcium technology, which reduces the risk of overcharging and fluid loss, and slows the natural self-discharge that happens with all rechargeable cells, so it lasts longer.
