The batteries we send are almost fully charged, but the system will still want to finish the full charge. With this in mind, the system won't be able to provide full runtime protection while it completes the charge. If you are able its always best to do this initial charge without any load to start, we know this may not be convenient in a lot of installations but that is best advice; it's up to you whether you heed it.

Batteries in this type of installation have an expected lifespan of 2 to 5 years. This will depend heavily on use and storage; make sure it has good ventilation. The batteries will get hot; the hotter they are, the shorter the lifespan. Do not pile files on top of it; keeping the load low will help extend the lifespan. In an ideal world, keep them below 40%; they are often run to the edge of their capabilities, and while they may be able to, it will be at the expense of lifespan.
