When you receive your new order from us, the batteries will be almost fully charged, but even so you will still need to complete this charge before first use. The initial charge only needs to continue until the charger indicates they are ready. It probably will not take long. Do not just fit them and roll without this initial charge; it will help extend overall battery life.

You may not notice it, but it will probably take a few charges and uses before you can reach full capacity; this is a normal part of the conditioning process. You should fully charge your batteries as soon as you can after every use; do not leave them sitting in a semi-discharged state for any period unless necessary. Never try to discharge the batteries. With this type of technology, it will only shorten battery life. There may be many reasons for the equipment not to be used on a regular basis, if there are protracted periods where this is the case then ensure the batteries are charged beforehand and then topped up every four weeks but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours at a time.

The battery types we offer are VRLA and AGM. They need no maintenance or fluid top-ups; they are sealed lead-acid and valve-regulated with AGM technology. They are not hazardous and are safe to use around the home or on pavements, as well as when travelling; however, if you are booking a flight, you should check with the airline first.
