The batteries you receive from us will be almost fully charged, but you still need to fully charge them before first use. The first-charge time depends on the charger; just leave it on until it's finished. It probably won't take long. Make sure you don't skip the initial charge; doing so may reduce overall life expectancy.
It's not always apparent, but it may take up to ten charges, combined with use in your device, to reach full capacity; this is normal conditioning. After every use, put the batteries back on charge; letting them sit partially discharged is not wise. Going out of your way to fully discharge the batteries will reduce their lifespan, so do not do it. If the equipment is not used regularly, ensure the batteries are fully charged before any downtime, then top them up every four weeks, but do not leave them on the charger for more than 24 hours.
These 12V batteries are AGM (absorbed glass mat) and VRLA (valve-regulated lead-acid). They are deep cycle and non-hazardous, so they are suitable for indoor use or in electric vehicles. They will not leak, and they have all the features that make them useful for this kind of application. They do not require any maintenance.
