Installing the batteries is comparatively simple; refer to your manual for the procedure if you are not sure. They will arrive almost fully charged. However, the system will still need to complete a service charge when you first fire it up. This means, of course, that full runtime protection will not be available during this interim period until it's finished. While it's not always convenient, it's best to run without load at first so it can fully reset to the new battery energy level.
You can expect these batteries to last between two and five years in this UPS. This will vary greatly depending on conditions. Please ensure the system isn't buried under piles of paperwork, as it often is in an office. The batteries get hot; the hotter they are, the shorter their lifespan. If you keep the load below 40%, the batteries will last longer; a high load will reduce the overall lifespan of the cells.
These batteries are very resilient and can be mounted on the side without issues or leaks, so that they can be used in tower- or rack-mountable situations. They are the recommended VRLA type and benefit from AGM technology; they are non-hazardous, so they are safe for use in critical environments.
