Once you know that you need a set of new batteries for your UPS, for example, if the battery replacement light is flashing and maybe it's singing to you in a loud, pitched, screeching voice, then do not delay. This equipment is protecting your valuable data; it's been working twenty-four hours a day, every day, ensuring power surges and spikes don't damage your devices and that data isn't corrupted. It's not just for battery backup during a power outage.
Help with Installation
Changing the batteries yourself is not difficult, and doing so can save you a considerable amount of money. We will outline the simple procedure below; you will need minimal tools, such as a Phillips screwdriver and a pair of pliers.
Before you start, unpack the batteries you received. There will be four batteries in total; they will combine to make two modules for your machine.
Shut down the equipment your UPS protects, then shut down the UPS and disconnect all cables. Ensure the power lead is removed from the mains power.
The front panel will pull off, exposing the battery door, which is normally held on by a few Phillips screws which can now be removed. Dropping down the door will show the battery module; disconnect the connector plug and remove the first module. Be careful, as they are quite heavy; then do the same to the 2nd module.
Once they're on your desk, arrange the new batteries in the same shape and orientation, then swap the leads so they match. Some have a fuse at one end; do the same with that, and replace the modules in the UPS in reverse order, ensuring you plug both in as you go.
We recommend powering up the UPS without any load to start so that the new batteries can charge fully.
The voltage of each battery is 12v
Each battery has a capacity of 18 Amps.
Individual battery sizes are as follows
