It has performance stats and features that compare it with larger machines, including a powerful motor that will give the scooter an eight-mph speed limit. The main features that make this mobility scooter stand out are the all-round suspension system and large pneumatic tyres with five-inch sport-style alloy rims, which help make the ride smooth for up to thirty miles! The first thing you should do when you receive your new batteries is charge them to ensure they are at full capacity, although they should arrive almost fully charged. To keep the batteries in peak condition, recharge them after every use and charge them every eight weeks when the scooter is not in use. Also, please do not leave it on charge for more than twenty-four hours, as this can also damage the batteries.
For installation, refer to your manual, but changing the batteries is very simple. Firstly, make sure the scooter is switched off and remove the seat. Second, lift the battery cover and disconnect the black and red connectors. Next, remove the Velcro straps and pull out the batteries. To install your new batteries, follow the same steps you used to remove the old ones, but in reverse order.
Type of battery: valve-regulated lead acid (VRLA), absorbed glass mat (AGM)
Voltage: 12v
Capacity: 50Ah @20 Hr, amp hour
There is a pair of batteries to replace the Drive Medical Mercury Envoy 8+ mobility scooter. The size of each one is below:
Length = 199mm - 7.75-inches
Width = 166mm - 6.49-inches
Height = 171mm - 6.7-inches
These batteries are recyclable, as with most other batteries. Please help us and the environment by recycling at your local recycling centre. More information is available on our recycle page.
If you use your mercury Envoy scooter a lot and run the batteries down past 60% of the capacity, they will not last many years. If this sounds like you, then there is an alternative: lithium. These can be run down to 100% without issue and are suitable for some 50000 charges, over ten times the ability of sealed lead. You'll find the link below under Alternatives.
