Small, compact sealed lead-acid battery pack that will not spill; these are often found in residential alarm systems as well as medical equipment.
When you receive your order of batteries from us, they will have a fairly high charge, but you still need to fully charge them before first use. If the battery is being fitted into something like an alarm system, you can skip this step, as it will do a better job of charging it than you. It shouldn't take long, just until the charger light indicates it's ready. If really in doubt, overnight will be more than enough, but it's doubtful you would need to leave it on the charger that long. Make sure you do not miss the initial charge (unless, as stated above). Doing so may well reduce overall life expectancy.
These 6-volt batteries are AGM (absorbed glass mat) and VRLA (valve-regulated lead-acid). They are deep-cycle and non-hazardous, so they are suitable for use indoors or in portable devices; they will not leak. All features that make them useful for use in this kind of application; they, of course, do not require any maintenance.
