When you place your order, you will note that the batteries will be almost fully charged when received, but it is still important to fully charge them before first use. Charge time depends on your charger; leave it on until it indicates it's finished. While you may be sorely tempted to just fit them and go without charging, it's well worth waiting that short period to set them up the right way before you start.
It may take a number of full charges and alternating use for the battery to condition and take a full-capacity charge. This is quite normal. After you use your equipment, you should recharge it as soon as you can. Do not leave it sitting around in a partially discharged state for any longer than absolutely necessary; do not attempt to deliberately discharge the batteries. This will only harm them and reduce their lifespan. If the equipment is not used regularly, ensure the batteries are fully charged before any downtime, then top them up every four weeks, but do not leave them on the charger for more than 24 hours.
These batteries are deep cycle capable, which is essential in this type of application. The VRLA and AGM cells will not leak and are not hazardous, so they are suitable for travelling. No maintenance is required, except, of course, charging, which we have covered on this page for both VRLA and AGM.
Please confirm the code on your mobility equipment carefully; many are very similar, so you can order the right battery set.
