At the heart of the bait boat, and what allows it to function, is the pair of batteries nestled inside. Maintaining your batteries on a device such as this is vital, as you don’t want the boat to lose power while you are on the lake. To begin with, a full charge is required after installation but before first use, and, most importantly, a full charge as soon as possible after use. Secondly, if six weeks pass without any use, give the batteries a top-up charge to keep the cells inside active. Lastly, do not over- or undercharge, and follow all instructions provided by the boat's manufacturer.
AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) sealed lead-acid batteries are recyclable. Sealed lead-acid batteries, including AGM types, contain materials such as lead, sulphuric acid, and plastic. Recycling these batteries is vital to prevent environmental contamination and to recover valuable materials for reuse. The lead can even be used to manufacture new batteries, while other components can be recycled or properly disposed of to minimise environmental impact.
Please note we can supply upgraded, heavy-duty batteries that are slightly wider at 51mm. They are same battery size as the HD, we have included a link to them in the alternatives tab if you wish to upgrade, it will mean that the boat will run longer between charges.
