Van Os are a well-established company that produces mobility scooters, powered wheelchairs and mobility aids for the public. Their Excel Sportrek is one of their standout mobility scooters and is a little unique in its battery system, with a set of four batteries rather than the industry standard of two.
This electric scooter is powered by a set of four sealed lead-acid batteries that are housed beneath the floor pan. We are providing a premium, rechargeable, non-hazardous, and maintenance-free replacement set for these batteries. Accessing the batteries is relatively easy, and you should only require a screwdriver and some basic knowledge. This set includes four batteries for the Excel Sportrek mobility scooter.
Maintaining the battery in your Excel Sportrek mobility scooter is essential to keeping it operating at its peak efficiency. Always charge the battery fully before first use, after every use and avoid letting it drain completely, as deep discharges can shorten its lifespan. Additionally, recharge it if it hasn't been used in five weeks to prevent self-discharge. It's also critical to dispose of old batteries properly; to reduce the environmental impact, lead-acid batteries should be recycled at approved facilities.
Upgrading for more range?
As standard, the Excel Sportrek comes with 22Ah batteries; however, we can offer upgrades to increase miles per charge. The 26Ah upgrades are 2mm taller; these are, of course, laid on their side, so, in effect, longer and a little tighter. This is usually not an issue, but we like to ensure you have all the information before ordering, and you can make your own decision.
