These valve-regulated sealed lead acid batteries come as a pair. They are appropriate for portable use and won't leak. Keeping your batteries healthy is easy if you follow a few guidelines. First, make sure your new batteries are properly charged, and most importantly, make sure you don't leave them discharged for too long after each use. Second, top them off once a month if you won't be using them for an extended period after fully charging.
This new set of batteries is lead-acid and therefore made with the precious material lead, which can be recycled once it's finished its job in years to come (if you treat them right). This also applies to the batteries you have just taken out, so please direct them to your local recycling centre.
