When you receive your order of batteries from us they will have a fairly high charge in them, but you still need to fully charge them before first use, if it's going into a device that is constantly connected to the mains like a UPS system then you can miss this step out as it will do it automatically for you, it shouldn't take long, just until the charger lights indicates its ready, if really in doubt overnight will be more than enough but it's doubtful you would need to leave it on the charger that long, do not just use without this initial charge, unless as stated above, doing so can shorten expected life span, it's well worth doing
it may well take up to ten charges and alternating use in your equipment for the battery to fully condition and be able to take a full capacity charge, this is all quite normal, as soon as you after each use put them back on charge, do not allow them to sit in a discharged state, discharging the batteries fully will only reduce their life expectancy, you cannot kick start this kind of battery in that way, it will do them no good and will cost you money in the long run, if it turns out there are periods where the equipment is not being used on a regular basis then ensure the batteries are fully charged before any period of downtime and then topped up every 4-weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours
These are 12v valve regulated sealed lead acid batteries and will not leak they are both AGM and VRLA, of course they are the required deep cycle kind and they are not-hazardous so safe for use in portable equipment, medical and indoors
