When your order is delivered to you your new batteries will be almost fully charged, but regardless of this you still need to complete a full charge them before first use, there should be no need for many hours charge, it will probably not take very long at all, just until your charger indicates they are ready, this will of course depend on the charger capabilities, you may well be impatient enough just to fit and use the equipment without charging but it's well worth waiting until its fully charged and will help extend overall life expectancy
Unless you are a very extended user your will probably not even notice that it can take a number of charges and use in your equipment before a full capacity charge is achieved, this is all part of the conditioning process, each time you have used your new battery then you should put it back on charge as soon as you can, do not leave it sitting in a semi discharged state for any longer than necessary, do not try to fully discharge the batteries, it will reduce the lifespan and cost you money in the long run, If there are extended periods where the batteries are not being used then ensure they are fully charged beforehand then recharged every four weeks but you should not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours
These batteries are deep cycle capable, which is essential in this type of application, the VRLA and AGM cells will not leak and not-hazardous so suitable for portable equipment, there is no maintenance required, except of course charging which we have covered on earlier on this page, both VRLA and AGM
You should confirm the code on your battery carefully, there are many that are very similar, if in doubt look at you old batteries, check the dimensions and take note of anything written on the side of them, we have also included the physical dimensions of the battery to make certain, the batteries themselves have a very high lead content so they are recyclable, more detailed information about recycling lead batteries can be found on a link at the foot of this page
