After placing your order and upon receipt of your new battery pack you may will note that they have a good charge in them, but regardless of this you will still need to charge them fully before using for the first time, there should be no need for many hours charge, it will probably not take very long at all, just until your charger indicates they are ready, this will of course depend on the charger capabilities, do not be impatient, wait until this first charge has completed before thinking about using the equipment, it will contribute to overall battery life
It's not something that most will notice but it will take a few charges and use in the equipment before a full capacity charge is reached, it's part of the normal conditioning process, make sure that you charge your new batteries after each and every use, they are capable of many charges but this will reduce if you let run them down in-between, going out of your way to fully discharge the batteries will reduce their life span, so do not do it, if for any unforeseen reason they is an extended period where you are not using the batteries make sure they are fully charged first, then recharge every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours
These batteries are deep cycle capable, which is essential in this type of application, the VRLA and AGM cells will not leak and not-hazardous so suitable for portable equipment, there is no maintenance required, except of course charging which we have covered on earlier on this page, both VRLA and AGM
Check the code on your old battery carefully to ensure you are ordering the correct one as many of them have very similar names of codes, if in doubt you could check the dimensions of the batteries and take note of anything that may be written on the side of them, the size of the batteries are also specified below so you can confirm, these batteries are made mainly of lead which is easy to be recycled, more information about recycling can be found at the foot of this page
