When you receive your new order from us the batteries will be almost fully charged but even so you will still need to complete this charge before first use, an over rider to this would be if it's going into something with its own built in always connected power supply which will complete the job for you. you do not need to leave it on for hours on end, it will probably not take very long at all depending on the charger, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished, do not just install and go without this initial charge, doing so can shorten expected life span, it's well worth doing.
.
If you are a normal user then you will probably not even notice it but it can take up to ten charges and associated use in your device before its capable of accepting a full capacity charge, this is all part of the conditioning process and quite normal, once you have used your equipment put the batteries back on charge, do not let them sit in a partially discharged state for any longer than absolutely necessary. discharging the batteries fully will only reduce their life expectancy, it will do them no good and will cost you money in the long run. if for any reason you are not using them for long periods then you should recharge every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time.
the battery type is AGM which is short for absorbed glass mat construction, they are also valve regulated, they means they can be used around the home without the fear of any leakage, with deep cycle properties that this type of installation would require. they will require no maintenance throughout their entire life span and are not-hazardous so safe for portable applications.
We have provided the information here only as a guide, you need to check the code on your device carefully as so many of them are pretty similar so it's easy to make a mistake, you will also find we have listed the dimensions so you can make sure you are ordering the correct pack, looking at your old batteries, taking note of the dimensions and anything that may be printed on the side is probably the wisest thing to do, the batteries themselves have a very high lead content so they are recyclable, more detailed information about recycling lead batteries can be found on a link at the foot of this page.
